Peace Forage Seeding Tool
Based off of the BC Rangeland Seeding Manual published in 2013, this new online tool goes through an interactive decision making process to help users select forage species to seed, create seed mixtures with a seed mix calculator and even connect with seed suppliers! The development of the tool is spearheaded by the Peace River Forage Association of BC but AB & BC levy grower dollars were put towards creating links between users and seed suppliers!

Proposed Constitution & Bylaw Amendments
On November 28th, 2016, the new Societies Act came into effect in B.C. This act governs how societies (not-for-profit corporations) are created and run. The Act includes significant updates to allow for more flexibility in how societies operate, while still protecting the public interest. There are a few modifications that need to be voted on to make sure our association complies with the new Act. There are also some changes we have identified in regards to how growers become members which has changed since the levy came into effect and is different than when the association was incorporated in 1995. We are also suggesting some additions to include the Seed Trade Representative in the Board of Director definitions which are currently not there.
Please see the proposed amendments in this document. A full copy of the current constitution can be viewed here. Anyone with any questions or concerns is encouraged to contact Talon at 1 877 630 2198.
GE Alfalfa Free Peace Zone
Our association is actively working to develop a GE alfalfa free Peace Region zone before spring 2017. Bill and Jane Farney have been contracted to work with the AB municipalities and BC regional district to reach this goal. View the position statements of PRFSA, Forage Seed Canada's and several other Canadian forage and forage seed associations on GE alfalfa here.
